Match Report: Dusty City FC 1–2 Otada FC
Venue: Kitengela Grounds
Dusty City FC endured a narrow 2-1 loss to Otada FC in a thrilling encounter marked by early shocks, tactical gambles, and a debut under pressure for a young goalkeeper.
First Half:
The game exploded into life in just the 2nd minute when Otada FC capitalized on a defensive lapse, slotting in the opener to stun Dusty City’s backline and fans alike. The hosts struggled to find rhythm early on and were dealt another blow in the 28th minute when Rashford Gura went down injured, forcing a substitution. Evrah Tepela was brought on to stabilize the midfield.
But Dusty City found their spark in the 38th minute, as Alex M floated a clever assist to Edwin Meoli, who calmly finished to restore parity and reenergize the side heading into halftime.
Second Half:
Dusty City emerged from the break with intent, making four tactical changes in the 46th minute. Rodney, Wayne, Alvin, and Malachi stepped in for Sam, Wicky, Alex M, and Wily. The tempo immediately picked up, and by the 56th minute, the move nearly paid off as Malachi was brought down in the box. Evrah stepped up to the spot but saw his penalty attempt veer wide— a missed chance that would haunt the home side.
In the 75th minute, Otada responded with a brilliant solo effort, carving through Dusty City’s defense and reclaiming the lead, 2-1. Just minutes later, more misfortune struck when keeper Vicky sustained an injury. With no time to hesitate, Edwin Kyalo was handed his senior debut in the 77th minute. Showing composure beyond his years, Kyalo held firm and prevented further damage.
Despite late pressure and a flurry of efforts, Dusty City FC couldn't find another equalizer. The final whistle confirmed a frustrating defeat—but also highlighted depth in their bench and resilience in the face of adversity.
