We went into game match 3 v Alyth looking to add to an already solid start to the season by taking 3 points from this match.
We had never played Alyth before so it was into the unknown, but the team were full of confidence considering the strong start they had made in tier 2.
First half performance was absolutely superb. A powerful and strong performance right across the pitch, with our strikers taking their chances well.
We opened the scoring early on when a superb Lucus corner was sent into the net via an Alyth player to put the lads 1-0 up. Shortly afterwards Lucus Syme was at it again! Yet another first class free kick from his outstanding left foot, sending the ball high into the Alyth net to make the score 2-0.
We capitalised on the momentum we had built and Coden made it 3 with a well taken goal to put us well ahead. Maison added a fourth with a fine headed effort to send us in at half time with a 4 goal lead.
The game was all but done at this point but 5 changes were made at half time and I asked the lads to keep up the standard.
Second half performance was nowhere near as good as the first. Alyth actually had the better second half and were rewarded with 2 goals as the game finished 4-2 to Dryburgh.
Another 3 points on the board and really couldn't have asked for a better start from our first three games.
Some excellent performances today, particularly from captain fantastic JJ Lamond and Super Layton Smith, who made a series of good saves.
Well done to all the lads - let's hope for another win on Tuesday as we take on Arbroath Blues at South Road
