Away friendly match

Dickens Heaths first friendly game of the 2016/17 campaign ended in a 2-2 draw away at local neighbours Wing Jobs.

A debut goal from Dean Hodge after an excellent free kick from Nick Woodfield put Heath in to the lead somewhat against the run of play. Heath grew in to the game from there and were leading 1-0 at the half time break. A special mention to goalkeeper Dan Trialist for an excellent fingertip save on to the crossbar early on in the half.

Early in the second hald the referee awarded Dickens Heath a free kick on the edge of the Wing Jobs area. Despite having a wall almost as long as the great wall of China, new captain Aidan Hearfield managed to whip an excellent shot around the wall and in to the net to give Heath a 2 goal cushion.

That was as good as it got for Heath as Wing Jobs pulled one back from the penalty spot after Stuart Malin gave their forward player a little cuddle in the box. Just five minutes from time Wing Jobs managed to grab an equaliser from inside the box and probably felt quite fortunate not to lose the game.

A good runout and a hard working performance.
