Home league match

Bad day at the office sees Raptors lose 9-1 to Bedford Albion.

After playing these not so long ago, we knew how dangerous they are on the attack, so started with a 4-5-1 formation of:

GK - Jonny Smith

LCB - George Rogers

CB - Joe Santoriello

CB - Jamie Frear

RCB - Jack Gale

LM - Ryan Maddock

CM - Cain Hamilton-Boyle

CM - Chris Patrickson

CM - Jason Fleeting

RM - Danny Warman

ST - Thomas Tompkins

The game started with us playing well and keeping the Albion attacks to a minimal threat. We nearly took the lead midway through the first half as Jason put a lovely ball through and Danny Warman getting the better of the defender, saw his shot hit the far post and bounce put.

A hamstring injury forced off Pogs, which saw Alex Connolly replace him after 20 minutes.

Raptors hitting the post gave Albion a kick up the arse and their response was 2 quick goals.

Raptors didnt drop their heads, and a other ball over the top, saw Tommy get the better of the defender, only to be brought down. A stone wall red card!! However the referee bottled it and issued a yellow. The freekick just outside the area came to nothing.

Albion (lucky to still have 11 men on the field) then grabbed another 2 goals, to go into halftime 4-0 up.

The second half saw Albion more superior as they grabbed 5 goals.

Another huge incident saw Danny continue to hassle the Albion CB, which he didnt like, and he kicked out at Danny's feet off the ball.

Raptors sole consolation was a soft penalty, which was awarded after a very soft push.

Jason Fleeting stepped up and smashed it past the keeper to put him joint top goalscorer with Kingsley Lambert and Tommy.

Decisions didnt go our way, and Albion shouldve been down to 9, but the fact was we were not good enough, plain and simple.

Performances were below par which saw others drop their heads. The true test of a team is how they can bounce back and put the pain of the previous defeat behind them. That being said, we must work as a unit and not give up so easily in our next game v Little Paxton.

The squad for this game will hopefully be decided tonight.
