This week the Lions traveled to the league leaders back garden Buxton Town. Its not the best place to travel at any time but when its 0'c, windy rainy and you have had two back to back defeats its not the nicest place to go. Manager Dean Concannon had alot of decisions to make as with 8 players out injured but in all fairness any 11 is a strong 11 but its just a case if its strong enough.

The lions started the game with the wind in their favour. With the hard rain that had came down it didnt take long for the pitch to cut up. The lions did however start the brightest when early in the 1st half Ryan Parsley found joe wragg inside the box to put Darley 1-0 up.

Buxton did respond only five minutes later when a cross was blasted into the box for the Buxton forward to convert 1-1.

Ten minutes later the Home side was gifted the softest of penalties when Jake Hodkin went shoulder to shoulder with the striker. The biggest problem is it was 4 yards outside the box but the penalty was given. If it was in the middle of the park you could understand it but i dont think enough thought went into the decision.

The lions did find their way back into the game only minutes later when Callum Musgrave converted from short range 2-2.

It was then the lions went back in front as liam Ashton grabbed his first of the game just before half time 3-2

In the second half the game turned exactly how you would expect it to do so with with Buxton coming from behind to go 4-3 ahead. Lions keeper kernaghan then pulled off a fantastic double save to keep the Lions in it.

With 10 minutes to go Ryan Parsley found the net to pull it level.Jay Roose had to then be removed from the field as he pulled up with his groin. On come Martin Travis.

With twominutes left the dream was complete as Liam Ashton Broke free down the right had side to smash across the goal, in off the post 5-4.

A great performance that goes to show when in form the Lions can beat anyone in their league on the day
