Our opponents , for some reason cherrypicking on a gap season in the middle divisions , wasted no time in going a couple of goals up as usual . intelligent movement off both set pieces saw their scorer of a thousand goals Kyle Matthews find the space and skill in the box to produce clinical finishes . Our commitment and some outstanding goalkeeping got us through only two goals to the bad after 45 mins on what was now becoming a quagmire of a pitch . The home side , going for a seasons 3 figure goal difference, notched another couple , capitalising smartly on defensive errors . Rarely have I seen us drop our heads so frustratingly but it was starting to look bleak . Pride took their foot off the gas a bit thankfully and we managed to carve out a good consolation goal as Colin drove home through the madding crowd . Liam Poll uncharacteristically rammed a penalty strike onto the post and no one reacted quickly enough to claw us back to 2-4 . Pride notched a fifth and six before Col curled in a lovely centre for Cassidy to head onto the post again . His follow up miss rated alongside the best/worst comedy moments ever , fluffing the rebound again from 8 inches out when it was easier to convert . While Pride will no doubt be celebrating yet another hatful of goals ( good luck to them by the way ) , I also think we can play better than that , giving them a closer game than we did . However , its our first defeat since the end of October and overall we have done OK to pull this season out of the turmoil we were in at one stage . Still in both cups and well placed for a promotion challenge our campaign is very much alive .
