Home league match
<p>Despite still struggling to play an unchanged side , Baz was able to field a strong midfield and attack line up plus regulars Coop and Andy at full back as he reverted to 442 to counter the away sides nippy left winger . Ash kept his place at centre back but Barrington was forced to rely on young keeper Jake Parker to do a job alongside him . Casso was back in goal after a long absence from league action so his knees and agility were a worry . Brades had beaten league pacesetters Oakham the previous Sunday and fielded a strong lineup , but Darlo produced an outstanding first half display on a truly awful surface to control the game . The Squirrel broke the deadlock in the 20th minute when he glanced a cross over the keeper to register 100th competitive goal for us . We were by now well in charge and Charlt was clipped inside the area to allow Ben Wilson to put away a spot kick . All Baz had to do at half time was ask for more of the same and not take the foot off the pedal . The pitch was heavy however , and it did look like Brades had paced themselves to give us more problems , playing a much higher line and pressing more . We looked sluggish for 20 minutes and our opponents took full advantage of defensive errors to pull the two goals back . Tackles were flying in as Dan got booked for a late tackle and stood up to a physical tussle . casso kept us in the game with two outstanding stops , the second producing gasps of disbelief from his fans . A word here for our two youngest players Jake and Ash at centre back , who gave everything to keep us in it despite the 10 minute setback . Brades sensed a win , but pushed on leaving gaps at the back . When Col rolled the back years all of a sudden and outpaced two players to be bundled in the box , up stepped the Squirrel to complete his hat trick from the 12 yard mudspot . We were destined to hang on to the win as Gaz and Toone both put in a cameo , Gaz in particular making a bit of an impression on the oppositions rearguard . Well ... ona pitch that denied either side the opportunity to pass the ball properly , we showed a bit of passion and commitment to claw out a much needed win .
