<p>After 5 weeks without a match it was hardly surprising we started sluggishly , particularly with one or two looking as though they'd gone overboard on festive replenishment . Passes misplaced , over-hit through balls and uncertain defending saw us award the lead to a grateful Ashmore side , looking to avenge their league defeat in November. Rookie manager Casso switched Ricky and Liam which gave us a more composed look in the centre and a pacier threat up front as we began to ask questions of the visitors defence . Skipper Kris Toone finally found his length of pass , curling a lovely ball down the right , The Squirrel timing his diagonal run into the channel to lob an exquisite chip over the keeper. By now we were looking much better . A very quiet Dane Hurley powered in a 30 yard free kit at a pace the keeper couldnt handle , mad Tiptoner Ricky Owen following in to put us ahead . Ashmore had chances of their own however as our back four struggled to find the understanding of previous games , huge gaps appearing everywhere. Inevitably we conced again before half time 2-2 . Tinkerman Casso elected to slot Griff in at the back to provide a bit more pace , with new signing Nobby sliding into the centre of midfield . The second half was much better ..we never looked in danger for a time and could have had a few in this period . Colin replaced Rick who had given everything to the cause . A cross came in for Liam Poll who chested the ball into the path of Ben Wilson for his second . However our habit of self destruction hit again as we failed to clear and handed Ashmore's striker a gift of a goal to make it 3-3 . Liam Clark came onas our final sub and Griff suddenly then declared he couldnt do extra time , Casso turning from ginger to grey very quickly these days . In a glorious finale , Dane Hurley put his considerable weight behind a lovely cross , his best mate Colin meeting it on the volley to give us the 4-3 victory and passage into the quarter final draw .
