Huge result that showed the team spirit. The first team went into today's game looking for a response after last week's defeat to Llanyrafon. A change of formation created a different challenge for the boys. They started of well, playing the better football and creating opportunities going forward, forcing a number of top quality saves from the Pontnewydd keeper, as well striking the crossbar and the post before Pontnewydd scored from, what was intended to be a delivery into the box, and eventually, Pontnewydd led 2-0 at the half. The lads picked up in second half in order to find a way to break down the Pontnewydd keeper and the boys dug deep in the second half, attacking with intent and the fitness levels of Pontnewydd eventually told. The boys broke them down bit by bit to see out the game with a solid 4-2 win and a huge 3 points. Solid performance all round, with mentions to Callum Joseph Short who stepped up when needed and had a quality game at the centre of a back three and Calam Waters, who proved the difference maker going forward.
