The game that got away. The boys walked away from this game believing that there was more in the game for them after giving away a two goal lead. The boys faced early pressure from the Corries, defending well at the back in a new system. The boys grew into the game as it went on and attacked with purpose. Another brilliant save from a penalty from Ryan Thomas made it three straight penalty saves which kept the boys in the game. Solid finishes from Rob Bailey and Abdulhay Baha gave the boys a 2-0 lead at the half and had the confidence to go and get more goals. Louis Moss and Stuart Flagg were key players in the midfield playing brilliant football and adding to the defensive efforts throughout. In the Second half, the boys continued to keep the Corries at bay and were solid at the back until the 70th minute where the Corries found their way through with a free-kick. Unfortunately, a lack of discipline was again the downfall for the second team as they conceded two free-kicks on the edge of the box inside the final 20 minutes and had felt like a defeat at the end of the game. The boys will take the positives though, having improved performances in recent weeks and will continue to take it into the coming games against Newport Eagles and Rogerstone. Special mentions go to John Jayjay Howells for his efforts battling with one of the bigger strikers in the league who caused the back three problems all game and Louis Moss who was instrumental in the midfield by putting his body about in a very physical battle in his debut.
