Home league match

A dominant performance and a clean sheet to match. A win against Albion would mean moving ahead of them and into 6th in the league. Things started steadily but eventually the boys grew into it as the game progressed with John Jayjay Howells breaking the deadlock after 15 minutes after a fantastic corner delivered by Stuart Flagg. The boys were by far the better side, creating chance after chance and remained solid at the back. A second goal midway through the first half came from Matthew Verren as he fired from the edge of the box into the bottom left hand corner, with Lloyd Pugh then firing just before the half to make it 3-0 at half-time. The boys were playing positive and effective football, forcing Albion to defend with eleven men behind the ball for the majority of the game, but they were unable to keep our boys from finding ways through as Matthew Verren found his way through for his second goal. Robert Bailey scored what will be the easiest goal of the season after scoring from a yard out, and Richard Felvus got on the scoresheet as he fired low down to the keepers right. The boys will take a lot of confidence from this result and will look to take that into next weekend when they take title chasing Spencer Boys. Special mentions go to Stuart Flagg for another solid performance in the middle of the park, Tyler Kellow for his work rate in the back three to help defend a clean sheet and Lloyd Pugh for continuously causing trouble for the Albion right back all afternoon.
