Match Report - Stalybridge BLUES U15S - 15 Sep 2019

These lads do like to keep us on edge don't they. After unfortunately having to call last weekend off due to injuries today was our first official game as Crompton f.c and the lads played their hearts out today against an established division one side who where comfortably mid table last season. The game was played at a really high tempo by both sides and ebbed and flowed with both teams having good spells on top we opened the scoring when Harrison knocked a ball across a crowded box from Jackson's corner that found Liam on his full debut to knock it in. Stalybridge equalised before half time then after a pep talk cleared some creeping negativity out of the lads we came out strong in the second half our second goal was possibly more of an own goal but I've credited Harrison with it for the determination shown to win the ball back and fire it across the box not long after Alex looked to be hacked down on the very edge of the box but nothing was given (probably offside anyway ??). Stalybridge equalised again but straight from kick off man of the match Ben chased the ball into the corner won it and produced a great cross dummied beautifully by H and fired in by Jackson at the far post boys could have scored a few more today and fully deserved the win thanks all for your support as always.
