Another game v Woodside, another narrow defeat, this time in the 2nd round of the North of Scotland Cup
Woodside deservedly took the lead after 20 minutes when the striker was allowed time to turn in the box and finished into the bottom corner.
Cowie woke up after this and started to come into the game although it was still very scrappy but they equalised in 35 minutes when a scramble at a corner ended in the net with LOVICK getting the final touch.
Unfortunately Woodside went up the park near enough straight away to make it 2-1 with another poor goal thay could've been cleared however Cowie equalised right on half time when a free kick from BUCK went straight through the keepers legs.
2nd half was similar to the first with not much football being played and Cowie were dealt a blow when the Woodside striker went in lste on Jarvie despite being miles offside and the ref just waited for the collision before blowing. Jarvie had to come off and was replaced in goal by Stu Miller who did well on his debut.
The winner for Woodside came in 75th minute when 2 clear fouls on Buck weren't given on the edge of Woodsides box, the ball was cleared long and a mix up in the defence allowed the striker to lob the ball into the net.
Cowie threw everything forward in last 15 but couldnt get an equaliser, and lack of numbers showed as coach Muzzy had to come on for final 10 minutes up front due to injuries.
A disappointing defeat but didn't play anywhere near the standards of late, a depleted squad again but should've done better all round the park.
