Cowie exited the NOS (2020 Trophy) stage at the semi final once again with a penalty loss to Woodside this afternoon.

With only 11 players available, 2 of which hadn't played for 3 months it was always going to be a struggle and with the state of the pitch, there was never likely to be much football on display and so it turned out, Cowie should've been ahead in the first half missing good chances but it was Woodside who opened scoring 25th minute when a flick on was tapped home.

Cowie equalised after half an hour when a cross from CRAN looped over the keeper who could only help it into his own net.

Playing up the slope 2nd half, Cowie took control of the game and went ahead in 50 minutes when McDONALD was played through and finished superbly off the underside of the crossbar.

10 minutes later it was 3-1 as the keeper spilled a Badger free kick and LOVICK was on hand to finish the rebound.

Cowie then had more chances to finish the game but couldn't take them and with legs tiring Woodside got a goal back in 81st minute when a cross from the winger found the far corner.

Cowie were now holding on but conceded an equaliser in the 92nd minute when another flick on wasn't defended and the striker scored an overhead kick to take the game to penalties.

Unfortunately Cowie missed 2 of their 5 kicks, Woodside scored all theirs and progressed to final 4-3, all the best to them in the final.

Another harsh lesson today, game should've been out of sight before conceding poor late goals, but it's hard to fault the 11 who made the effort to make themselves available.
