Cowie Thistle 1 - 0 Stoneywood East End
Cowie progressed to the quarter finals of the North of Scotland cup with a battling victory over last season rivals Stoneywood.
Having been beaten twice by the same opponents last season Cowie knew they were in for a tough game and so it proved with a single goal being the difference between the teams.
An early chance for McDonald when clean through was saved by the keeper as Cowie pressed for an opener in the first half, playing some good football but not being able to put the finishing touch to any move.
The second half was more of the same until with 20 minutes to go a cut back by Nicoll was met by the onrushing Gazelle who gave the keeper no chance and send the Cowie faithful wild!
Some more good saves from the Stoneywood keeper kept the score at 1-0 whilst the defence and midfield coped well with Stoneywoods aerial bombardment towards the end, resulting in a 2nd clean sheet in a row and a well deserved victory.
