St Laurence 2 - 3 Cowie Thistle
After 2 successive league defeats, Cowie got back to winning ways tonight with a hard fought win over St Laurence.
Cowie took the lead after 2 minutes when a great free kick by Duguid was met at the back post by CALLUM who headed low past the keeper.
The game was going from end to end without any real chances, but St Laurence got an equaliser in 25th minute when they were awarded a penalty which the striker scored.
The 2nd half started with Cowie trying to get a foot on the ball and play some football and they took the lead in the 55th minute when a corner from Shaun was headed back across goal by AARON and in at the far post.
Cowie had a couple of half chances to extend the lead but were caught on the break in the 70th minute and a foul was conceded out wide, from the free kick the ball was forced home in the 6 yard box for 2-2.
Cowie went straight up the park and made it 3-2 though when good work by Shaun sent Cozzy away, his shot was parried by the keeper and the rebound fell to SALMOND who fired home.
St Laurence were reduced to 10 men inside the last 10 minutes as they chased an equaliser but Cowies defence held firm for an important win.
Great effort and fight from the lads in a tough game, take the 3 points and try to build on it with Saturdays game at home to Insch.
