For the second week running it was a 2-1 cup defeat to Rothie, two of our own mistakes giving away goals and again we feel hard done by to lose.
The game was only 3 mins long when stand in keeper Kyle Mccombie gave away a penalty and Rothie were 0-1 up.
It took until the 35th minute for Cowie to get back into the game when a short Aidan Cran free kick was whipped to the back post by Shaun McDonald and Ronan Masson headed in.
Four minutes later it was 1-2 when a Rothie free kick was headed in unchallenged by one of their big lads.
The second half was played in the middle third without either side creating anything clear cut, with Cowie passing up any opportunities they could have converted into an equaliser. The closest we got was a Liam Smith shot that bobbled awkwardly and the Rothie keeper saved with his forehead.
We will have to play better and covert our chances if we are to beat Rothie in the league, but the past 2 games shows that there isn’t much between the sides in the chase for the top few places in the Premier Division.
