Cowie Thistle 7 - 0 Newburgh Thistle

Another comfortable win today for Cowie despite missing several regulars and playing most of the 2nd half with 10 men.

Cowie looked more likely to score in first part of the game but wasteful play in the final 3rd resulted in few chances, then after half an hour when Chaz Niven pulled up injured we were forced into a change as the returning McDONALD came on and within 2 minutes he opened the scoring with a header from a cross from Buck.

It was 2-0 not long after as a free kick was awarded on the edge of the box and BUCK stepped up and put it on the top corner.

Cowie started the 2nd half in perfect fashion with 2 goals in 2 minutes as BUCK scored his second from a Cran cross and then SALMOND opened his account for the day, again having been put through by Cran.

In the 50th minute Cowie were reduced to 10 men when Red Mist Robbie was sent off for retaliation to another late challenge by the Newburgh forward, a mini brawl ensued but only Robbie was sent off.

This didn't stop the one way traffic though and McDONALD scored his 2nd of the game and Cowies 5th on the hour from another Cran assist and he completed his hat-trick 3 minutes later when the keeper dropped the ball in a 50-50  and left him the easy task of scoring.

7-0 in the 75th minute and the scoring was completed when SALMOND tapped in for his 2nd of the game.

Another game where we could've scored alot more, good defensive performance to limit Newburgh to very few chances. 5 wins on the bounce now with 31 goals scored!
