Kincorth 0 - 3 Cowie Thistle
Cowie closed the gap at the top of the league with a deserved win over leaders Kincorth today.
Despite only having 11 fit players, with a sub goalie and coach on the bench, Cowie took the game to Kincorth and could've been ahead in the first minute but for a great save from the Kincorth goalkeeper from McDonalds shot.
The opener came in 14th minute when a free kick from TJ was headed down by McDonald and CRAN met it on the volley into the bottom corner.
Cowie had a great chance to extend the lead just before half time when McDonald hit the post and from the follow up Nicoll hit the bar, as the ball went out of play the Kincorth goalie said something to the ref and was sent off.
Playing against 10 in the 2nd half Cowie knew it was vital to get next goal they did that after 50 minutes when McDonalds cut back was expertly dummies by Knowles and SALMOND met it and finished into the side netting.
5 minutes later there was another turn as an off the ball incident resulted in the Kincorth striker being sent off, this was the cue for the game to start getting out of hand for the next 20 minutes as many wild tackles followed.
Eventually the game was wrapped up with 10 to go when a TJ corner was cleared and CRAN took a touch and finished from 25 yards off the post.
Great result given the squad circumstances to continue the unbeaten run, battled for every ball, yes playing against 9 in 2nd half helped but were the better team before all of that.
