Cowie Thistle 3 - 1 Insch
Cowie advanced to their 2nd semi final for the season after beating 10 man Insch today.
Having started the better of the teams, Cowie took the lead on the 20th minute when a shot from Knowlesy was parried by the keeper and BADGER finished the rebound on the volley for 1-0.
15 minutes later Insch were reduced to 10 men when the defender fouled Mutly on the half way line as Cowie broke for a booking then the ref showed him a 2nd yellow card straight away for something he said or did.
Cowie should've taken advantage of the extra man but for the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half it looked like Insch had the extra man as Cowie were getting lazy and 2nd to every ball and Insch got an equaliser when the ball was bundled in at the back post following a set-piece.
Cowie re-took the lead 2 minutes later though when Young was taken out by the keeper, looked soft but MUTLY stepped up and squeezed the ball under the keeper.
Cowie looked comfortable enough for the rest of the game and made sure of the win in the 80th minute when McDONALD was fouled at edge of the box, he stepped up and curled it into the top corner to send his fans wild, toot toot toot!
With the numbers missing again it was all about the result today, job done and onto the midweek games as we try catch up in the league with our games in hand
