Cowie Thistle 6 - 0 Ellon Amateurs
Cowie made it through to the quarter finals of the North of Scotland trophy with a comfortable win today against Ellon.
Cowie took an early lead in the 15th minute when a cross from Watson was met by R COZZY and he headed across the keeper for 1-0.
The game lacked any urgency, Cowie missed chances and were managing to control things without any real effort as Ellon rarely threatened the Cowie goal but it remained 1-0 at half time.
The 2nd half started with a little more tempo and Cowie made it 2-0 in the 50th minute when SMITHY cut in from the byline, beat a couple of defenders and then fired past the keeper at the near post.
It was 3-0 in the 60th minute when a cross from R Cozzy was turned into his own net by a sliding defender for an OG.
With the game effectively already over Cowie made changes with next weeks Scottish Cup last 16 tie in mind, including the return from long term injury of TJ.
These fresh legs helped inject some pace into the game and VALENTINE made it 4-0 in the 70th minute and then 5 minutes later R COZZY made it 5-0, both goals being set up by Cran.
The final goal was scored in the 83rd minute when Muzzy played the ball through and R COZZY completed his hat-trick by lobbing the keeper and the ball went in despite the efforts of the defender on the line.
A straight forward victory, continuing the winning run as we head into next weeks big Scottish Cup game.
