Echt 2 - 2 Cowie Thistle
Cowie dropped another 2 points late on tonight after looking good for a hard fought win.
The first half was one of few chances on a difficult pitch and it was going to take something special to open the scoring and that came in the 50th minute when Gazelle won the ball in midfield and played it down the line to McDONALD, fully 30 yards from goal he hit a left foot wonder strike over the keeper and into the far corner.
Cowies lead only lasted 5 minutes though when a ball over the top wasn't defended and the striker was allowed time to take a touch and finish past Jarvie.
Cowie re-took the lead with 20 to go when great work on the touchline by Gazelle won the ball, beat the defender and cut it back to McDONALD who finished right footed into the bottom corner.
As Echt started to go long in search of an equaliser Cowie had a great chance to finish the game when again Gazelle did superbly OK the line, cut it back to Salmond but his finish was blocked on the line.
Echt then equalised in the 88th minute when they got an unbelievably soft free kick in the middle of the park, the ball was played in and the midfielder had a free header at the back post and looped the ball over Jarvie.
Maybe a 5th league game in 10 days (only team in the Association to have this ?????) was too much for some of the boys but again cant fault the effort over the past week and tonight in what looked like being a deserved 3 points.
