Auchnagatt Barons 2 - 5 Cowie Thistle
Cowie recovered from another poor start to eventually run out winners today in Auchnagatt.
Auchnagatt took the lead in 10 minutes with a header at the back post from a set piece and they added another 15 minutes later when a cutback found the striker on his own in the box to deservedly put them 2 nil up.
Cowie woke up after this and got an almost immediate reply when Badger crossed for MUTLY who took a touch and volleyed past the keeper.
Cowie got the equaliser 2 minutes into the 2nd half when Bucks free-kick was blocked by the wall but the rebound fell to SALMOND who finished beautifully on his left giving the keeper no chance.
Cowie took the lead in 55 minutes when good work down the right by Bez resulted in him being taken out in the box and BADGER stepped up and sclaffed the penalty home down the middle.
Cowie were controlling possesion and creating chances as Auchnagatt resorted to the long ball, Cowie made a couple of subs bringing on Young & Mantas and both looked bright and it was Mantas who set up McDONALD for the 4th as he finished inside the 6 yard box with Auchnagatt claiming offside.
The final goal came in the 80th minute when Mantas was put through, his effort was saved by the keeper but he squared the rebound to SALMOND who finished off the bar.
Result more important than the performance, a good fight back from being 2-0 down but going to have to play better to stand any chance of winning next week in Scottish Cup Last 16.
