Alford 0 - 1 Cowie Thistle
Cowie had to work hard to make it through todays cup game bit in thr end a deserved victory up at Alford.
On a difficult pitch Cowie started well and were moving the ball around and creating chances, unfortunately none could be converted in the 1st half, the closest being a couple of goal line clearances by Alford defenders.
Into the 2nd half and again Cowie were playing the better football and had chances through Mutly, McDonald and Salmond to open the scoring but couldn't find the net. Alford came back into it as the half went on and looked threatening from set pieces but their chances were limited.
With the game looking like heading for extra time the winning goal came with 10 minutes to go when a long throw from Duke was flicked on by McDonald and CAMMY took a touch and finished from close range.
Like last week, Cowie had to defend deep for last 10 minutes but held on, and despite Alfords late claims for a penalty went through to the AFC Quarter Finals
Another tough game but once again lads showing great character to battle when required and claim the win.
In other news, East Kilbride RR won the replay so its a trip to Glasgow for the Scottish Cup QF in a few weeks time
