Every friendly gives us an opportunity to learn.
Attleborough gave us a good game today and we can learn a lot from it. They finished in the bottom half of league 2 but have had a full season of 9 a side which gave them an advantage today.
We had a variety of players with different challenges today, playing first games, coming back from injury, playing for us for the first time, and in the first quarter it told as we conceded several goals.
From then on, with a simpler formation and with you all getting used to the pitch and game we got better with the game being even after 30 mins.
I’m not worried about the result and you shouldn’t be, we will have several more friendlies before next season and work through the following;
•Goal kicks
•Corners
•Managing offside
•Defending and attacking as a team
•Throw ins
•Fitness
•Speed of thought
We will focus on these, particularly fitness and speed over the summer.
Special mention to Justin today for playing CB the whole match, Kenzie for playing a full game after knee ligament damage, Harry for scoring on his debut and Preston for his hat trick.
Each of you will have some things to learn from today and we will get better each game.
