Home league match
Locos should have went in to this game full of confidence and fired up, the complete opposite was the case and it set the tone for a really miserable first half of football. Macca suffered a shoulder injury 20 minutes in and was replaced by Ryan Kelly ... this was the only notable piece of information worth reporting during the first 45.
Second half started and was slightly better from Locos but still not great. 60 minutes on the clock Colin Thow latched onto a ball down the right flank and sent a delicious lobbed shot way over the keeper into the far corner to break the deadlock. This still didn't raise any performance levels and the game faded into even more misery which prompted some changes.
On - Marc, Chilly, Snodz and Tom
Off - Brady, Deano, Gaz and Andy K
The game then took its worst turn for Locos as they gifted Higham all 3 points due to some shambolic defending. Chilly made a clumsy foul on the edge of the box 80 minutes in, the player chipped the ball over the wall into the back of the net for the equaliser. Moments later Snodz recorded the worst introduction to a football game ever and scored an own goal within a minute of being on the park. Higham then comfortably seen out the last 10 minutes to claim a well deserved win.
Man of the Match for Locos - Willy Thomson. After a shaky first 10 minutes or so he found his composure and became a rock down the left side of defence.
Another slap in the teeth for Locos. I'd like to say a valuable lesson learned but I get the feeling this may happen again as its already happened twice so early on in the season. Let's hope I'm wrong.
A shocking day all round for the team including the manager who should have been ruthless enough to hold back on so many substitutions during crucial moments of a very tight match.
Next up for Locos Reserves is an NFA Area Cup Match against Division Four companions Corby Trades and Labour.
Roll on next week and we all wish Macca a speedy recovery.
