Away league match

<p>A nervy opening 15 minutes for Pegasus Reserves seen the early pressure being applied by the home team. They pressed into the final third with ease but never really threatened to score against a stubborn Pegasus backline. Thankfully, Pegasus began to play some neat football and created a mammoth amount of chances and should have been 6-0 up, but unfortunately the luck wasnt there and the Half Time score was 0-0. Frustration began to set in early during the second half after more chances were squandered. Despite 5 changes, the frustration remained as Pegasus battered the Harpole defence but still lacked the final bit of quality to take the lead. In the 80th minute, the match turned ugly after a nasty challenge and both teams were involved in a tussle, this turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Pegasus as 5 minutes later, a fired up Pegasus team charged up the park and released a ball down the left flank for Brendan Logue who sent a rocket cross to the back post and Lee Sinclair showed a great piece of skill to strike the ball with a first time volley which found its way into the net after a slight deflection. Before Harpole could stage any sort of late comeback, Sean Porch played a precise through ball to Thomo who fired a lovely strike into the corner past the keeper. Final score 2-0. This was by no means a pretty performance, Pegasus again had to show their battling qualities. Most teams would have gave up after wasting so many opportunities but the desire within the Pegasus team continues to impress. No player stood out today but Man of the Match is Lee Sinclair for getting the vital goal to win the game. This win moves Pegasus to top of the League. The lads have worked extremely hard to get there, so hopefully they now work even harder to stay there. Next up for Pegasus Reserves is a League Cup Semi Final against Weldon A.
