After last weeks horror show it was vital Pegasus Reserves bounced back with a performance, this was certainly the case as the hunger was there to see right from the warm up. A bright start from Pegasus Reserves was hampered after a mistake down the right flank allowed Earls Barton to push forward and win a penalty in the 6th minute. The player coolly slotted this in to make it 1-0. The response from Pegasus was excellent as they pressed forward and pinned Earls Barton high up the park. A couple of good chances were missed but the intent to get the goal was growing and growing. The goal finally came on the 20 minute mark, after some good build play and a clever flick from Vadim put through Thomo who struck the ball first time from an angle which curled its way in past the keeper to make it 1-1. A fantastic finish to say the least. Again, Pegasus Reserves continued to battle and they got the reward on the half hour mark after Thomo sent a great ball down the right flank to Szabi, who used his pace and carried the ball 40 yards before calmly placing it past the keeper to make it 1-2 to Pegasus. This scoreline remained going into HT. Second Half started just as bright as the first for Pegasus and the energy levels were outstanding. In the 55th minute, a penalty was rewarded to Pegasus, Thomo stepped up and smashed the ball in the net to make it 1-3. This proved to be a crucial goal as Earls Barton failed to create any chances and continued to play the long ball at any opporunity they could. The 70th minute to 75th minute, 5 changes were made from Pegasus to refresh the team after some tireless work rate for those involved up to that point. This didnt alter the performance from Pegasus as the subs got stuck into the game and provided some great energy levels going forward. After a moment of magic from Sean Porch which seen him turn a defender inside out, he played a cross low in the box which was tapped in from substitute Daniel Loughran in the 80th minute to make it 1-4. 8 minutes later, a 5th goal was added after Brendan Logue latched onto a terrible error from the keeper. Finally, the game was well and truly wrapped up after a superb run down the left flank from Daniel McBlain seen him produce an inch perfect pass across goal to Daniel Loughran to score his second goal after coming on. Final Score 1-6.

A magnificent response in a must win game for Pegasus Reserves. Every single person in the squad today proved they are up for a battle and are ready for the tough fixtures ahead. The attitudes were spot on and the work rates, particularly from the front 3 proved to be the difference today. Pegasus didnt give Earls Barton a minute to breathe and managed to produce the performance of their season. Man of the Match was Vadim for his phenomenal work rate and link up play. Roll on next week.
