Scrappy Away Victory

<p>Despite the windy conditions, Pegasus Reserves made a lively start and were rewarded early on when Vadim Becs made the score 0-1 after a powerful volley. The game then changed dramtically as Pegasus struggled to maintain control of the game. Corby United began to grow into the game and created a few chances, one of which led to a corner that was headered in after poor defending from the away side making the score 1-1. Pegasus responded well and began to show a lot more bite which resulted in another goal on the half hour mark. A good through ball from Brendan found Andy Kyle who made no mistake when he slotted the ball under the keeper to make it 1-2. Some good chances were wasted from Pegasus leading up to half time so the score remained 1-2 going into the break. The less said about the second half the better. The game became slow, sluggish and lacked any real quality from both teams. 5 changes were made from Pegasus to inject some fresh legs into the mix, this definitely helped out defensively as Corby United pressed and pressed for an equalizing goal. Thankfully, Pegasus were able to hold on. Full Time score 1-2. Credit to Corby United, they grafted from minute one and maybe deserved a point from the game. Another win for Pegasus to make it 9 in a row. 7 changes were made to the squad from the previous week, so the quality in our numbers is fantastic, players with limited game time stepped up today and performed really well.
