<p>After 5 weeks without a game, it was a relief to finally have a match. Rustiness was expected due to the length of time without any match play and that was certainly the case for both teams early on. Neither team had the bite needed to take control of the game and that made way for a scruffy, slow paced opening period. A lot of 50/50 challenges were given against us but luckily Bugbrooke failed to capitalise with any of the resulting free kicks - each one being driven straight into our area for Jonny and the defence to deal with. We then enjoyed a few spells breaking into the final third but lacked the necessary bit of quality to force an opening goal. The breakthrough finally came when Thomo done a cheeky turn on the half way line to breeze past his marker, he then carried the ball 30 yards before playing a clever one-two with Andy Kyle and then coolly slotted the ball home. 1-0 Pegasus HT. Second Half played into our favour as space started to open up which we were able to exploit. The full backs began to push up half way which allowed the rest of the team to add pressure to the Bugbrooke defence. Thomo grabbed his second goal after a shot from Jambo was blocked and landed straight at Thomo's feet and he poked the ball into the corner on the hour mark to make it 2-0. Soon after Skinner attacked up the right flank and unleashed a cross into the box which the keeper spilled and the ball dropped into the corner. 3-0. We then went from cruising the game to struggling, complacency definitely set in and the defensive side of our game suffered as a result of this. Bugbrooke were easily found a lot of space around our area and their goal game straight after our third after we failed to deal with a routine cross and the striker tapped the ball in. Then 10 minutes later after another error and failing to deal with a simple cross, Bugbrooke grabbed a second goal which lifted them for an exciting final 10 minutes. Thankfully, nothing came of their last gasp attacks and we were able to dig in to earn a great 3 points. It turned into a tough encounter, we know we need to raise the focus levels if we are to overcome a potentially tricky tie at home to Stanion next week. Nevertheless yet another win and our great home form continues. MOM - Thomo.
