A Rainy Day & Solid Graft | CCFC 2-1 CRAGHEAD LEGION

Today's wet game saw us take on Craghead Legion once again, however this time, we were heading into the game with a shortage of players, and a number of knocks on the pitch.

The game started with us on the back foot, with many playing either out of position or injured. In goal saw Dan Lumley once again, still facing ankle issues. While Paul Graham could only manage the first half before being subbed off.

The first half saw us go down 0-1 with some sloppy defending and players getting dragged out of position, with the midfield failing to come back to help, as Craghead's resident goalscorer put us one behind. With the wet pitch came some bad passes and, more often than not, the ball getting lumped up the pitch, eventually leading to a lot of on-field bickering between the team.

As the game came to halftime, a dire change was needed, and saw the return of Jack, who replaced Paul, to play on the wing, while out of position Jamie was given the challenging task of man marking their star striker. Another player of note would have to be Connor Kennedy, plying right back, who showed some impressive footwork and solid defending.

With the ball rolling again, the team came to life and we finally saw some good football being played. Jamie did an amazing job of keeping with his man and stopping any attempts coming his way. While Trev at the back was the force we needed to subdue any attack they pushed upon us. After a few chances not taken, we finally equalized with a goal coming from the right side of the park, as Kian Murphy slotted the ball past the keeper.

With a ton of back and forth battling, our man of the match, Andrew Wrightson, stepped up, switching into the centre of the park to give us the needed play maker we lacked in the first half, putting in a solid shift and finally finding the net himself to give us the win we needed.

Well done lads, a win much needed, and a win much deserved!!! On to the next game lads!!! ??????
