Our first delve into the A teams and we gave a very good account of ourselves. Draw probably a fair result but was fair as both sides could have won also.

First half we started off very fast and got into control of the game for first 16 min. Passing,moving and hitting the opponents in the final third. Changing between short and longer balls the front 3 looked dangerous at all times. Max especially was on fire but Logan was out causing lots of issues too. Max was through 3-4 times before he got his chance to finish, Cameron with a ball over and Ross with a flick, Max burst through, rounded the keeper and tried to slot home, before that happened he was chopped down and a penalty was given although there was a momentary play on. Max got the ball and slotted passed the keeper. Soon to be 2-0 the boys were looking good, another couple of chance came and went with the defence being turned and tortured. Max through again and a very similar chance to goal was this time put away. Planned changes made and before u know it, it's 2-1. Some good play by our opponents and a nice finish. Tides have turned now and the opposition are now in control, probing, some good passing and switches of play eventually lead to the equalising goal. Still having chances at the other end the game now a little bit more end to end. Corner caused us trouble just before the half but we managed to hold out.

Happy with the boys, sent out with a couple of improvements. 1) midfield needs to protect asqell as attack. So someone needs to fill in. 2) keep creativity, not always the same ball (eg short, long, switch of play, recycle). I think the boys started off strong again with a couple of decent chances needed to be put away. Ayr got a nice finish from a good move and went ahead. Goal again just after 2nd set of substitutions (maybe need to look at the coach ??). A threat always up top boys were fantastic but our midfield were cut open way too easy and need to be working and moving at all times. Now 4-2 down after a mistake by Cameron in goals as he dropped it in net. We got one back and could have levelled before the whistle but probably just about right.

Very impressed with the boys though delivered and gave to the effort and quality needed. Shows they are not far off it. Max was sensational in opponents words! Delivered up and down the park making fantastic tackles first and second and quality to turn and take defences on and making the right decisions. Opposition coaches and ref MOTM Max.
