Coleshill Town Colts U13 put on an emphatic display in their cup clash against Kings Heath Concorde Juniors U13 SS, cruising to a 7-2 victory on a sunny morning at Wythall Park Pitch 2. From the first whistle at 10:00 AM, the Colts were relentless, stamping their authority on the match and offering a masterclass in attacking football.
Opting for a classic 4-4-2, the Colts started with Jamie Aston between the sticks. The backline of Dylan Boffey, Ben Adesugba, Leo Rohman, and Joey Peplow formed a sturdy barrier, while midfield maestros Antoni Laczny and Max Wilson controlled the tempo. Out wide, Archie Kingscott and Taylor Williams were a constant menace, and up top, the dynamic duo of Finn Holt and Alfie Murray spearheaded the attack. The bench was stacked with talent, ready to make a difference when called upon: Janek Hart, Oscar Lawler, Jack Smith, Ethan Doyle, and Lucas Court.
The Colts wasted no time getting off the mark. Just two minutes in, Finn Holt latched onto a neat pass from Max Wilson and buried his shot from 18 yards. Kings Heath barely had time to regroup before Alfie Murray made it 2-0 in the 12th minute, finishing off some fine work from Archie Kingscott. Finn nearly added another moments later, only to be denied by the keeper.
Coleshill's dominance was clear, and they were in no mood to let up. The defence, led by the resolute Ben and Leo, kept Kings Heath at bay, ensuring Jamie Aston had a quiet morning in goal. The Colts' third came on 29 minutes, Kingscott finishing off a cross from Taylor, further tightening their grip on the game.
Kings Heath managed to pull one back early in the second half, but any hopes of a comeback were swiftly quashed. Jack Smith, fresh off the bench, showcased his composure, rounding the keeper and slotting home in the 43rd minute to restore the three-goal cushion. Not long after, Taylor got in on the act, making it 5-1 with a confident finish.
Despite another consolation goal for Kings Heath, Coleshill were far from done. Archie Kingscott capped off his brace before Antoni Laczny put the icing on the cake with a well-placed finish after a clever indirect free kick from Taylor.
By the time the final whistle blew, Coleshill Town Colts U13 had not just won but made a statement with their 7-2 triumph. It was a display of ruthless efficiency, flair, and teamwork—a performance that will surely give them plenty of momentum as they look to advance further in the competition. Player of the match was awarded to Archie Kingscott for a great performance resulting in a brace and an assist.
