Tonight's friendly ended in a 3-1 win for Claregate against The Swan. Playing for the first time at new home Tettenhall College.
Some new faces in the Claregate side settled in very well over the course of 90 minutes.
It didn't start well for The Rangers though as The Swan took a 1-0 lead. Claregate then changed from a 4-4-2 to a 4-5-1 which soon stopped The Swan having it all their own way.
The 2nd half saw a much more composed and positive Claregate side with constant free flowing attacking moves. The Swan could only hold out for so long when Rodney "Trotter" Williams played an inch perfect pass for Sam "Woppy" Wapshott to fire home an equaliser with precision. A 2nd goal was added by skipper Tom Banks from the spot after a handball. Tom rifled his penalty high into the net leaving the keeper with no chance. A third was added when a clever Jon Wilson corner was fired at the near post for Josh Hodson to flick into the net. Also involved tonight and played crucial roles in the win were Lee Clutterbuck, Joe McKeown, Corey Clutterbuck, Anthony Lane, Mark Dyer and Andre Brown. MOTM went to Woppy, a classy midfield display capped by a fine goal.
