Claregate bounced back from last week's shocker with a 5-3 home win against AFC Pensnett Panthers.
Things didn't go to plan though and after 5 minutes Pensnett took the kead through an unfortunate own goal from Matty Yeomans. Claregate created chances and moved the ball well but had to wait until 29th minute for the leveller when Josh Hodson played a ball through for Jon Wilson who worked his way into the box to square for Andy Arnold to finish with ease on his 1st appearance of the season. Pensnett went into half time 2-1 up when a route 1 long ball wasn't dealt with by the Claregate defence presenting their striker with an easy finish.
Claregate came storming back in the 2nd half and scored on our 1st attack from kick off when Andy Arnold returned the favour for Jon Wilson with a through ball and Jon rounded the keeper to make it 2-2.
Big Daz Williams then opened his goal account after making a late run into the box and skillfully beating the keeper with a finish from 6 yards. 3-2
Rodney "Trotter" Williams, subbed on for Carlo Bandiera, then found space to fire a pass through for Andy Arnold who turned provider again with a square ball for Jon Wilson to tap in on 74 minutes.
Danny Jones spotted the run of sub Kane Lewis and passed into his path, Kane then produced an individual piece of skill to get past the left back, cut inside onto his left and unleash a screamer into the top corner making it 5-2 on 84 minutes.
Pensnett pulled one back on 86 with a well placed freekick.
Subs used were Trotter, Kane Lewis and Dave Timmins.
