Chipstead recovered from a poor first half display to earn a hard fought draw against aTeddington Athletic side intent upon avenging an earlier defeat this season. Again the Teddington numbers 9 and 7 were the stand out players for Chipstead's opponents with the former breaking quickly to score in the 18th min. Seven minutes later Teddington doubled their score when their left winger cut into the penalty area and put over a floated cross which was headed home by their number 20. Chipstead continued to be put under pressure with Teddingtons midfield winning their battle against their Chipstead opponents. Nevertheless, the combined efforts of Nico, Sonny and Desi managed to prevent any further addition to the score before halftime.
The second half saw a more determined Chipstead press forward and their efforts were soon rewarded when Aiden score from an assist by Reon who unselfishly passed the ball when he could have scored himself.
Another goal soon followed in the 33 min when Aiden supplied Aydan who went on to add to his goal tally for the season. Unsettled by this setback, Teddington were put under sustained pressure and remarkably Chipstead scored again in the 37th minute when Aiden again assisted Aydan to put Chipstead 3-2 up.
Stung by the scoreline and urged on by the vocals of their coach Teddington fought back to regain control of midfield and again laid seige to the Chipstead goal. Despite a stout defence, Chipstead were unable to hold out with Teddington scoring a well deserved equaliser in the 50th min.
The last 10 mins saw Chipstead unable to launch any meaningful attacks upon the Teddington goal and in the penultimate minute it looked like the home side had scored the winner. To their disappointment the goal was disallowed due to offside. All in all a satisfactory result which kept Chipstead at the top of the table, with their nearest rivals ESPA losing unexpectedly to the bottom side in the league.
