Match Report - BANSTEAD VILLAGE FC U12 - 10 Nov 2018

Chipstead continued their impressive start to their league campaign with a convincing 5 nil win over nearby rivals Banstead Village FC.

Consistent pressure almost straight from the kick off brought its reward in an early goal from Ayden assisted by Arthur. This was followed shortly afterwards with a fine free kick from distance by Sonny who is rapidly becoming the team's deadball specialist.

Within 2 mins Chipstead further added to their lead with a goal from Jack after an assist by Nathan.

Banstead rarely threatened the Chipstead goal with Desmond, Sonny and Aidan providing a solid defensive display and Nico confidently distributing the ball in his sweeper keeper role.

Despite consistent pressure including 9 corners, Banstead packed their area and prevented any further score before halftime.

The second half saw Chipstead continue to press with several saves from the Banstead keeper preventing any addition to the score. A fine run by Freddie saw a low shot go just wide of the far post.

At the other end a break from the Banstead central striker put Desmond under pressure. However his push on Desmond and follow through onto Nico who had come out of his goal to block, was penalised with a free kick.

With Chipstead continuing to pressure the Banstead defence the home team were eventually rewarded with a fourth goal when Seb put the ball away from another assist by Nathan.

As Banstead began to tire, Chipstead were awarded a penalty in the final minutes of the game. Taken by Freddie, the first attempt was saved. Adjudging that the keeper had moved off his line, Freddie converted at his second attempt.

Overall, a fine team performance which hopefully will be repeated in Chipstead's next match.
