Home league match
A much improved display saw Chipstead take the fight to league leaders Teddington Athletic.
Despite being without centre back Seb, a great team performance saw Chipstead take a point and nearly win against opponents Teddington.
Despite the quick counter attacks from Teddington, Chipstead's defence held firm in a hotly contested first half.
The second half saw Chipstead take the game to their high flying opponents and they were rewarded when Freddie scored his first league goal of the season from tap in from an assist by Jack. From then on Chipstead pressed forward for a killer goal but were denied by their opponents stand in keeper and some desperate defending from Teddington.
Dangerous on the break, Teddington's attack was nullified by a great performance by Aydan in an unfamiliar role of centre back and Nico who made a couple of key saves and clearances.
Going into the final five minutes of the match Chipstead looked to be heading for their first league win. Sadly it was not to be as their opponents managed to equalise when a through ball split our defence. Despite Nico saving a first shot, the ball was deflected by a Chipstead defender into the path of a Teddington player who scored into an empty net.
Nevertheless, a much improved performance from the Chips. Hopefully the boys will take heart from this result and carry their form into the next match against local rivals Woodmansterne next week.
