Fine Chipstead Team Performance Sinks Hersham.

Chipstead totally dominated last years Champions and their future cup semi- final opponents in a great team performance to run out 4 -1 winners.

As with last week Chipstead went straight on the offensive. After several Chips attempts on goal, Seb opened the scoring from fine build up play of 4 passes from box to box.

Fifteen minutes later after sustained pressure in the Hersham half Chips went further ahead when Tiago put the ball away from a Nathan corner.

With the back three looking strong and with Jack continually breaking down Hersham's attempts to play the ball through the middle, Nico was rarely troubled in a first half totally dominated by Chipstead.

An expected Hersham resurgence in the second half was quickly dispelled as Chipstead continued to dominate despite a raft of substitutions. Once again Tiago's physical presence going forward created pressure on the Hersham defence and was rewarded when their keeper hesitated which let Nathan in to score.

Stung by the third goal against them, to their credit Hersham rallied and pulled a goal back when the Chipstead defence gave away possession and the opponents striker put the ball away.

Given confidence from this, Hersham pressed to add to their score but were denied by a fine save by Nico.

Regaining control, Chipstead once again took the game to their opponents and were rewarded by a further goal from Tiago assisted by Nana in the 58th minute. After this it was a case of match management from coaches Haynes and Kirk.

A fine team performance against a team that in recent weeks had produced some fine wins to put them in contention once again to win the league. The boys need to replicate this display when facing the same opponents in the forthcoming cup semi final.
