Match Report - WARE FC ACADEMY U8 BLACKS - 18 Sep 2021

Action packed game of football, both sides playing well. We deservedly got the win but had to work hard for it.

The boys were set 3 key objectives today, knowing if they were executed well we would win the game:

- don’t dive in, ware fc have skilful players that want to take you on

- move the ball quickly in our own half, limiting your touches and progressing up the pitch in quick fashion

- intensity, we had to win the physical battle, all players must work hard up and down as a team

The one players who stood out with the above in mind was Freddie, especially as his job was to keep their best player quiet. He might still be in his pocket now.

Zach stretched them well in the first half but was given a motm medal for stepping up in the final quarter and going in goal, and making a few saves. And he scored a header from a corner!

Fletcher made some excellent saves particularly in the first half

Mason probably had his toughest game to date playing in the emerald division against strong opposition, but handled himself very well and was a danger all game.

Charlie came on was a rock at the back, making himself difficult to beat and moved the ball forward quickly

Blake and Alessandro were good all game but tore them apart in the final quarter linking up so well to win us the game. Either one were candidates for motm but it was Freddie who stood out defensively and was awarded by also getting on the scoresheet
