Finally, a win to report! After last weeks shocking performance, manager Dan Lynham demanded a response and he sure got one!
Cup week and we were up against a great team - a team that had scored 37 goals in their last 5 games so we had to be up for this one.
A quick start from Cheam with both wingers looking to attack at any given chance, Jamie playing in the 10 for the first time this season was brilliant, the defense was solid, communication and shape were brilliant all round!
The lead came when Lee helped a corner on that fell to Sam who reacted quick to make it 1-0, a short time later Jamie found Lee from another corner who himself made it 2.
Tattenham looked lively when they got forward, moving the ball quick and managed to grab one back with a shot outside of the box. We lost our keeper shortly before half time, so the manager himself stepped up. 2-1 at HT.
A few injuries meant early changes and now 45 minutes to battle and defend the lead. Tattenham had what seemed like 90% possesion in the 2nd half but we stood strong, held our shape and didn't quit.
The last 2 minutes saw all 11 Tattenham players in our half looking for an equaliser with all of Cheam Rovers behind the ball giving it everything! Sam was able to send Joe on his way in the games final minute who scored our 3rd and his easiest of the season, passing it into an open net. 3-1 FT, UTC! ??
