Match Report - SUTTON KNIGHTS 3RDS - 6 Feb 2022

After a week off following a great result we were itching to get going again!

The first half saw our four attacking players; Sam, Matt, Luke and Jamie - link up and create chances brilliantly. Quick 1 or 2 touch football, darting runs and putting trust into one another.  Jamie and Sam both found Matt after lovely play for him to put us 2-0 up and a short while later Luke was able make it 3, relentlessly running at the full back which he does week in, week out. 3-0 HT.

In our previous fixture with Sutton we let a 3-0 lead slip, only to score late on to secure a 4-3 win so we were well reminded of this at half time!

Luke was able to make it 4 (playing on the right this half), with a similar goal to his first, chasing a long pass and simply out running everyone! Luke himself was fouled inside the box a short while later giving Sam the chance to make it 5 from the spot.

No more than 10 minutes later and Joe was taken out and we were awarded another pen, this time Sam was nice enough to let Luke take it for his hat-trick. His 2nd hatty of the season but amazingly his first goals since September. He scores 3 at a time or none at all! Quaresma chants then started from the sidelines...

6-0 and now the target was now that elusive clean sheet we were so desperate for. We had to remain disciplined, although in games like this players like to use the opportunity to push further on than normal, looking to grab a goal for themselves.

We added our 7th and final goal of the game from a free kick, Si was able to strike one from at least 30 yards out which sailed straight in. We're telling people it was like Çalhanoglu's free kick vs. Dortmund, real special from the Maltese wizard.

Bill came very close late on to adding an 8th, climbing above everyone to win the header - CR7 vs. Sampdoria esque. Great win, clean sheet (clean goalie kit), happy manager, 7-0 FT. UTC!! ??
