vs Double H Sunday
Home league match
Here we go, the 22/23 is under way!
We were up against familiar faces, a team we'd drawn to in both games last season so we were desperate to grab all three points and get our season off to the best possible start.
The first half saw Cheam dominating most of the possession but failing to really test Double H's keeper, Double H themselves struggled to get into the game making it an easy first half for goalkeeper Dave.
The breakthrough finally came when Jack made a great challenge in the middle which then sent Luke on his way charging down the wing. Their defender struggling with his pace, as they all do and bringing him down to award us a penalty which Sam stepped up and calmly slotted. 1-0 HT.
Dave made a few changes at half time and expressed the importance of the next goal. We continued in similar fashion to the first half, pressing forward and trying to create. Joe was able to chase down and put one of their defenders under pressure - the ball then finding Jay amongst it all who slotted from close range to make it 2-0.
Dan Keogh had obviously been watching TAA videos before the game as we'd never seen him so far forward. The game seemed to dull down and as it came to a close Double H were awarded a penalty which Dave got a hand to but was unlucky.
Three points was the goal which was achieved but we still have so many levels to our game. Jack put in a great performance today and was awarded MOTM, rightly so. 2-1 FT, UTC ??
