Pelhams New Year Misery Continues!

<p>Pelhams miserable start to 2016 continued as they went crashing out of the divisional cup after losing their second group stage game at home to White Roding 6-0. A Pelham side with a make shift back four knew that they needed a win in cold conditions to keep their league cup hope alive. However confidence and fitness were pretty low after last weeks league loss to Sawbridgeworth Brewery. Pelham started the better of the two sides again this week but this game soon followed on from last weeks as they slowly dropped off. White Roding struck first after the 15 minute mark making it 1-0 to the away side. The goal was undeserving and as soon as that happened Pelhams heads dropped and things once again went from bad to worse. White Roding doubled their advantage around the half hour mark making it 2-0, and that's the lead that they took into the break. Words were spoken at the half and Pelham knew the next goal would be vital. However the start of the second half carried on from the end of the first half and White Roding were soon in their rhythm and on top once again. Two turned to Three not too long into the second half and unfortunately for the home side it didn't stop there. Over the course of the second half White Roding doubled that tally and the scoreline finished a humiliating 6-0 against a very average White Roding side. Most definitely the worst performance I've seen from us since joining the club and something needs to change to avoid a car crash end of season and stop us going into a downward spiral. Absolutely everyone is playing for their places in the team and squad for the rest of the season and potentially next season as well!!! Next weeks game is a huge opportunity to get to a cup final and a must win game, everyone needs to turn up and stake a claim for the rest of the season!
