Home league match
Casuals and Pelham frustratingly managed a draw against Newport FC. The game was due to be played at Newport but due to last minute changes, the game was in fact played at Home for Pelham. Newport took the lead on the half hour mark through a header making it 1-0. However they didn't have that lead for long as some good work from Steve Callan down the left hand side saw him cut the ball back to Rob Parrish who took the chance making it 1-1 on 35 minutes. It stayed that way til the half both teams going in at 1-1. However Pelham came out firing second half and made it 2-1 on 55 minutes. Cal Lynskeys corner was met by Steve Callans header giving the keeper no chance. However with so many injuries and no subs it seemed to be the story of the season so far, with Pelham desperate to get some bodies and players back and have the option of fresh legs through the game. Pelham just couldn't hold on to their lead and Newport made it 2-2 on 80 minutes with their second header and second goal of the game. The rest of the game was played out at the game finished 2-2. As mentioned, its a frustrating period where we have so many injuries and we need players back desperate to help give us some fresh legs during a game. However once again with players playing in un-preffered positions to help out the team, we seem to have a good bunch of lads and good personnel. Hopefully in the new year with a couple more signings and players back we should have that cover and competition for starting places back. Todays man of the match was a close one but with a goal and an assist Steve Callan just edged it.
