Home league match

Casuals and Pelham were back to their old selves as they ran out 5-0 winners against Hatfield Heath. After weeks off from regular games, and putting in a poor performance against Finchingfield last time out, the pitch was back to its best and Pelham reverted back to a 4-5-1 formation. This immediately seemed to pay off, as the home side finally got the ball on the deck for the first time In weeks and played some good looking football. Pelham looked to break the deadlock but their final ball in the last third just didn’t quite come off. The closest they came was a Tim Shaw long range effort just going wide after the keeper had come off his line and out of his goal. Hatfield Heath came close with a bit of a goal mouth scramble from a corner, but Pelham managed to clear the ball and keep their clean sheet in tact. Half time, the score as tied at 0-0. Pelham started the second half as they left off the first, getting on the ball, playing some decent football and slowly but surely started to create some chances. The deadlock was finally broken on the hour mark as a bit of a scramble from the corner saw Lee Simper eventually scramble the ball home, 1-0 to Pelham. The goal seemed to kick some life into Pelham and they continued to push for more. They doubled their lead five minutes later as some good work from Tim Shaw saw him pick out Charlie Daniels who slotted home for 2-0. Two then became three with this time Jamie Richards following up an attack and making it 3-0. Charlie Daniels then added his second of the game with his last kick of the afternoon making it 4-0, and finally another attack from Pelham was rounded off by Steve Callan after some good work from Adam Watts. Pelham could have their tally further with Heaths keeper making some good saves and Pelham coming close through Shaw and Daniels. With no response from Heath, the game finished at 5-0 and a good result matched a solid performance from Pelham.
