Casuals and Pelham beat Finchingfield 3-1 away from home. Pelham had a small squad of 13 players but were determined to get some points on the board after last weeks disappointment. They set up differently formation wise and they started well. They immediately put Finchingfield on the back foot and carved out two early openings through Daniels and Parrish. Pelhams pressure eventually payed off and they took the lead through a Rob Parrish volley at goal via an Adam Notley throw in. Finchingfield started to attack more after that goal but without really creating any opportunities, and Pelham went into the break 1-0 up. The second half started as the first ended, with Finchingfield pushing for an equaliser. Pelham sat deeper because of this to hold on to their lead but Daniels was becoming isolated and Finchingfield were gaining an upper hand in the game. Pelham saw this and actioned on it, making a couple of changes and in turn started to get back onto the front foot. However it would be Finchingfield who would score the next goal and at the time completely against the run of play without them really threatening. But they took their opportunity and tied the scoreline at 1-1. Pelham had 10 minutes left on the game and they were desperate for the win, throwing everything at the home side. Pelham a few minutes later broke down the left hand side through Dan Boyce who got past the Finchingfield defenders to the byline and picked out Charlie Daniels towards the edge of the box, who struck the ball first time and into the bottom corner, 2-1 to Pelham. The game was still in the balance but Pelham put the match to bed 5 minutes later. Boyce played a ball in behind over the top for Daniels to latch onto who slotted past the keeper cooly making it 3-1 to Pelham and capping off a good performance with a win. Pelhams man of the match with two goals was Charlie Daniels.
