<p>Casuals and Pelham slumped to a huge defeat at the hands of Brewers as they lost 6-1 away from home. The score line didnt really reflect the performance, particularly in the second half as Pelham were left to count the injuries they have built up over the last few weeks by only being able to put 9 men out, and 2 of those coming in for their first games of the season. With only 9 men Pelham knew they needed to keep things tight, counter attack and take their chances but unfortunately with only having one defender amonst those 9 players that would be easier said than done. Pelham conceded an early goal straight away in the first minute and as soon as that went in, heads went down and they gifted Brewers first few goals to them. 1-0 soon turned into 2, then 3 and by about 35 minutes Brewers had raced into a 5-0 lead! The scoreline flattered the home side but Pelham had completely thrown their game plan out the window and dropped their heads from the moment the first goal went in. A few harsh words were spoke at half time and the game could either go one way or another. It seemed as though those harsh words done the trick as the second half performance from the 9 men was so much better. Pelham actually ended up drawing the second half 1-1 with Adam Notleys penalty coming after Brewers had struck a sixth goal, and that 1-1 second half scoreline was massively down to a string a incredible saves from Dan Monk in the Pelham goal. Not much to say on the game but the fact of the matter is we are in a bad place injury wise and the squad will need adding to over the next few weeks for sure to make sure this doesnt happen again and we are able to put out a full team each week. This weeks man of the match goes to Dan Monk who had a fantastic game and made some wonderful saves throughout the match
