Casuals and Pelham ticked off another league win as they ran out 4-0 winners at home against Stortford Wanderers! Pelham started fairly slowly as they struggled to find a rhythm, partly down to their home pitch not being in great condition currently. However after the first 15-20 minutes they slowly started to create some openings. One of their first real opportunities ended up being the first goal of the game. Dan Boyce won the ball back off the Wanderes midfielder on the edge of his own box, Boyce dinked the bal, out wide to Jamie Richards, who headed inside in to the path of Simper, with Lee getting the ball under control and sweeping past the keeper, 1-0. Pelhams lead was doubled almost instantly, Tim Shaw picked the ball up on the edge of the box. Facing away from goal it looked like he would try and play someone else in behind, however he swivelled and hit it first time into the top corner, 2-0 Pelham. The home side could have gone into the break with an even greater lead, with Shaw and Boyce coming close with a couple of chances. However 2-0 was how it stayed at the half, with Pelham heading into the break with a deserved lead. The second half carried on how the first ended, with Pelham in the ascendency. The home side should have been well and truly out of sight, and they missed some huge chances through Boyce, Shaw and Jamie Richards. However the scoring wasn't done yet, and Pelham eventually added another two with Shaw completing his hattrick. His second goal being a penalty tucked into the bottom left corner, and his third and final goal for the hattrick being a one on one with the keeper which was finished calmly. Pelham stood strong for a second week in a row and defended well, and a managed to notch a second clean sheet on the bounce, 4-0 was how it finished. Some good performances today, Simper had a great game with Wattsy having one of his best games in a Pelham shirt, but with 3 out of 4 goals scored, this weeks man of the match goes to Tim Shaw.
