Home league match

<p>Casuals and Pelham drew for a second time this season and for the second time didnt deserve to drop points. After drawing 3-3 with Sawbo Brewery when deserving to win, they drew 2-2 with Bishops Stortford Wanderers and once again most probably deserved to win this game. After struggling to get hold of the ball when playing against Wanderers previously, Pelham decided to match up the opposition formation wise and play with 5 in midfield, with Hakim Medfai sitting just infront of the back four. That formation change worked for Pelham and from minute one in the first half they took control of the game. They created a good number of chances and almost took the lead when Dan Boyce struck the ball against the woodwork after a lay off on the edge of the box from Cal Lynskey. They did however take a deserved lead when Rob Parrish latched on to Hakim Medfai's ball through, slotting past the keeper. Pelham limited Wanderers to literally no chances or shots on goal at all until the 36th minute when one lucky long ball fell at the feet of the Wanderers striker, and he punished the home side finishing the chance of nicely making it 1-1. Five minutes later Wanderers were awarded a penalty which was a terrible decision by the referee with James Bosher clearly winning the ball in the challenge adjudged to have fouled his man. Wanderers scored the resulting kick and all of a sudden found themselves not being able to believe their luck at being 2-1 up. However that lead was short lived as Pelham went straight up the other end with Dan Boyce laying off the ball to Cal Lynskey, who in turn hit the ball on the half volley and smashed the ball into the far corner. 2-2 it stood and thats how it stayed at the half. The second half was a little more low key, with Pelham again matching up the away sides formation and limiting them to very little chances. However Pelham didnt create too much themselves in the second half, but did create chances through Parrish, Arran and Boyce. The game played itself out and it looked like all the action was seen in the first half with the game finishing 2-2. Micks man of the match this week goes to Hakim Medfai who had a solid game in that defensive midfield position and dictated the play well particularly in the first half.
